Hi there, I’m Matthew!

For the past ten years I have worked in the mental health profession in various roles and capacities. I have been a youth mentor, a group facilitator, a child welfare worker, and have been working in family, group, and individual therapy. I have a special interest in working with LGBTQIA+ clients who are struggling with identity issues, trauma, and faith transitions. Figuring out who we are and how we belong is a difficult and sometimes challenging task, and it’s okay to ask for help.

I am EMDR (Eye-movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFIT (Emotion Focused Individual Therapy) trained and much of my approach with my clients is trauma and attachment focused; how what happened to us throughout the lifespan shapes how we view the world, our relationships, and ourselves. I believe that therapy is hard work, focused on challenging unhelpful beliefs and creating meaningful ones.

I am currently the Program Director at Stillwater Academy, a residential treatment center for at-risk youth, and from 2023-2025 I was a contract therapist with Blue Skies Counseling, a woman-owned and queer allied private practice. I opened my own practice in 2026.

I am also trained in the art of Reiki, or energy healing, which is a Eastern form of medicine and a complementary approach to healing trauma, pain, anxiety and depression, as well as other negative energies by utilizing the universal energy that lives in all of us.

I am looking forward to hearing your story and figuring out how we can work together to cultivate meaningful relationships, boundaries, self-acceptance, and growth.

“You have genuinely changed my life just by being there for me, not giving up on me, having faith in me when it seemed like nobody—not even myself—had that. Thank you for never giving up.”
